Hojicha Sayamakaori

Single origin Hōjicha from Kyoto. Delight in this beautiful roasted green tea, made from aromatic Sayamakaori grown in harmony with nature.

Natural Hōjicha is made from the Sayamakaori cultivar, grown without any pesticides or fertilisers using Shizen Nohō (Natural Farming) techniques in Kamo, Kyoto. Coexisting with the natural environment, the tea plants grow in field where weeds emerge and insects pay a visit during the summer months. Come autumn, these weeds naturally recede, enriching the soil for future growth. Experience this beautiful tea, the taste of nature.

We are Joshua Takashi and Marin, the creative minds behind this teahouse. Originally from Nagano and Osaka, Japan, we have been living in Europe for quite some time. During the pandemic, we found ourselves missing the taste of home—the comforting smell of hōjicha, the soothing taste of matcha, and the umamipacked sencha. Our longing for these delicious teas inspired us to embark on the journey of creating an authentic Japanese tea house like no other.
