Hōjicha powder Kuki is crafted exclusively from the stems of cha-no-ki (tea plants) in Kyoto. Compared to the leaves, the stems carry a mild, sweet flavour and are naturally low in caffeine. The rich roasted flavour of Hōjicha also works excellently in sweets and baked goods. Finely milled like our matcha, it serves as a delightful, low-caffeine alternative to matcha lattes, making our Hōjicha powder Kuki an ideal choice for a relaxing evening drink.

We are Joshua Takashi and Marin, the creative minds behind this teahouse. Originally from Nagano and Osaka, Japan, we have been living in Europe for quite some time. During the pandemic, we found ourselves missing the taste of home—the comforting smell of hōjicha, the soothing taste of matcha, and the umamipacked sencha. Our longing for these delicious teas inspired us to embark on the journey of creating an authentic Japanese tea house like no other.
